HAY-ON-WYE 2013

23rd May – 2nd June 2013

Hay-on-Wye on the Welsh border is known as 'the town of books' and every year hosts a world famous literary festival

Hay-on-Wye on the Welsh border is known as ‘the town of books’ and every year hosts a world famous literary festival.

The Groucho Club was proud to be invited to set up a temporary  restaurant, bar and club in the Medieval Hay Castle in the centre of town for the duration of the 10 day festival.

The Castle has been repelling barbarians for a thousand years and in that spirit, the Club took it over to establish a restaurant, two bars and a club room to provide a sanctum and refuge from the deluge of prose.

The ground floor restaurant, run by our Head Chef Tim Wilson, served a menu of local seasonal ingredients and played host to an exlcusive club lunch with legendary Chefs Margot and Fergus Henderson whilst the club room and bar offered a selection of our infamous cocktails and bar food all served by our trusty team of staff drafted in from Soho HQ.

Open to our members and the public the Groucho Club in Hay was received to huge acclaim and great praise and we hope to be back again next year.
